What Is BaZi?

BaZi (八字), often translated as the Four Pillars of Destiny, is one of the oldest reflective frameworks in Chinese culture. It maps the moment of your birth onto a structured chart of four pillars — year, month, day, and hour — each made up of a Heavenly Stem and an Earthly Branch.

How a chart is read

The four pillars become a lens for thinking about temperament, rhythm, and the seasons of a life. Practitioners look at the elemental balance — wood, fire, earth, metal, water — and the way the Day Master (the stem of your day pillar) relates to everything else around it.

What BaZi is not
